Beltone introduced its first hearing aid more than 80 years ago and have been helping people hear better ever since.
Beltone was the first manufacturer to create in-ear hearing aids, 2.4 GHz technology, an iPhone compatible hearing aid, and an app for the Apple watch, and they plan on more “firsts” in the future as well.
Factors In Choosing A Hearing Aid
When it comes to choosing your Beltone hearing aid, there are several things to take into account:
Do you live a sedentary or more active life?
Would you like audio and phone calls streamed to your hearing aids?
Would you rather have battery-operated hearing aids or rechargeable ones?
Does the hearing aid serve your degree of hearing loss?
How discreet do you want the hearing aids?
Once your hearing loss has been determined with a free hearing evaluation, your Beltone Hearing Care expert will help you fine tune your final decision based on your lifestyle and personal preferances.
Today, we’re going to compare the Beltone Imagine to the Beltone Amaze – two of our most sought-after hearing aids.
Beltone Imagine vs. Beltone Amaze – Key Differences
While the Beltone Imagine and Beltone Amaze share many great features, they also have some that are unique to each one, which are as follows:
Design
The Amaze comes in both custom in-the-ear styles and multiple behind-the-ear options (available in 7 different colors) while the Imagine is only available in a behind-the-ear style (available in 8 color choices).
Charging
Both have an expected operating time of 30 hours.
Hearing loss
Both can be tailored to fit a wide range of hearing loss from mild to profound based on receiver power, aid style and ear mold material. Only a comprehensive hearing test will tell you what degree of hearing loss you have to determine the right solution.
Speech clarity
The Imagine has 3 mics – M&RIE* (Microphone & Receiver-In-Ear) and CrossLink Directionality 3 with an Ultra Focus feature.
The Amaze has CrossLink Directionality 2 with Personal Sound ID (Advanced).
Streaming
Both work with Apple and Android products running Android 10 or later. Not all phone manufacturers running android 10 have the streaming feature enabled, check with your hearing care professional.
Phone Calls
Hands free calling is not an option on Android phones. Hands free calling is compatible with Iphone 11 or later, Ipad Pro 5th generation, Ipad Pro 3rd generation, ipad air 4th generation, ipad mini 6th generation.
Tinnitus Breaker
available on both Amaze and Imagine hearing instruments.
Your choice might ultimately rest on how much background noise and wind you need to reduce to hear clearly and how many devices you need to connect to your hearing aids.
Another main consideration can be the investment. A customized Amaze hearing aid can cost more because of the personalized molding step, but three price points are available depending on the quality of its features – the number of bands, adaptive directionality, Curvilinear Rapid (WDRC) number of channels, feedback eraser, low frequency boost, Sound Cleaner Pro, synchronized speech spotter, and wind noise reduction.
The year the hearing aid was introduced might also affect your choice.
Reviews can weigh heavily on your decision too, but both models seem to garner the same ratings.
Hearing Tracker rates Beltone Amaze Hearing Aids at 4 stars from 134 reviews (April 2022) and Beltone Imagine at 4 stars after 47 reviews.
