Everybody loves a chance to celebrate. We are doing just that as Business Intelligence Group announced its winners of the BIG Innovation Award last Wednesday, January 22. Presentation of the coveted award was in recognition of Android compatible features included in the design of their Beltone Amaze™ Hearing Aid.

What Is the BIG Innovation Award?

The BIG Innovation Award rewards organizations and people who bring new ideas to life.

The award, presented by Business Intelligence Group (BIG), focuses on encouraging innovators, whether big or small, to put their ideas into action and change how we experience the world.

This award is significant because it comes from recognizable leaders in the world of innovation rather than editors and writers with limited business experience.

The Selection Process

Nominations for the BIG Innovation Award arrived from organizations from across the globe, submitting their recent innovations for consideration. Judges from a select group of volunteer business leaders and executives score the submissions and then award those meeting their high standards of innovation.

Technological Innovation in Amaze Hearing Aids

Beltone Amaze™ received the award for its technological breakthroughs permitting direct streaming to Android devices. Until now, the direct streaming technology of phone calls, music, and other sound devices while preserving battery life using Bluetooth Low Energy was only available on Apple devices. In the development of Amaze™ Hearing Aid, Beltone made design accommodations to allow this form of connectivity with Android devices.

This innovation is significant, because three out of four mobile users worldwide use devices with Android operating systems, allowing millions of people with a hearing loss to access technology capable of improving their quality of life, making it easier to connect to loved ones and friends.

Beltone Is Leading by Example

In her award announcement, BIG chief operating officer, Maria Jimenez, praised innovators saying, “Innovation has become a major theme for organizations across virtually all industries and this year’s winners are a testament to the creativity, passion, and perseverance of individuals worldwide.”
In comments related explicitly to Beltone’s award, she said, “We are thrilled to be honoring Beltone as they are leading by example and making real progress on improving the daily lives of so many.”
